Delegated 3(16) Fiduciary Services

In an effort to lighten the employer's fiduciary burden with hopes of increasing employer sponsored retirement plans, you can delegate RSI as the Plan Administrator tasked with handling the following responsibilities (view our video series to learn more about your role as a fiduciary):


Participant Requests: RSI, in the role as Authorized Signer, will consult with participants on distribution, loan and QDRO requests. RSI will also review requests, sign as administrator and complete the distribution process with selected recordkeeper.


  • Participant Notices: RSI will coordinate with your selected recordkeeper to prepare required participant notices, including 408(b)(2) and 404(a)(5) disclosure notices. We will ensure that documents are accurate and sent to all affected participants on a timely basis.

  • Annual Form 5500 Filing: RSI will prepare the annual Form 5500 including appropriate schedules. Additionally, RSI will sign as administrator and submit the annual filing to the DOL.

  • Annual Plan Audit Fees: RSI’s processes are thoroughly examined by a qualified auditing firm each year. By completing this process, we obtain a Level 2 SOC 1 certification which allows us to work directly with your plan’s auditing firm.
